Fishing Forever is an annual program, that has been run by dedicated club volunteers for many years, and provides an opportunity where people with disabilities can learn, or continue, to fish and enjoy the outdoors.
In the recent past, the event took place at the Coombs Campground pond which had been stocked with rainbow trout raised at Vancouver Island University. The volunteers provide fishing rods to the participants, the hooks are baited with a worm, cast out, and the rod handed to the fishers who await the strike of a nice rainbow. The local community businesses donate lunch, tents, and the premises for the event
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this event did not happen in 2020, but it hopefully will as soon as the Covid-19 restrictions are lifted.
